Traders is seeking a quantitatively skilled individual with a strong curiosity and drive for solving business problems by analyzing complex data, formulating conclusions, developing recommendations and implementing innovative solutions. 

Responsibilities

The Product Analyst requires a quantitatively skilled individual with a strong curiosity and drive for solving business problems by analyzing complex data, formulating conclusions, developing recommendations and implementing innovative solutions.  This position leads the analytical efforts in support of profitable growth.  Directly supports the priorities set by the Product Manager, but with the space to exhibit innovative and creative thinking.  The position requires close interaction with the other functional departments such as Quality Assurance, Underwriting and Sales.  The position is intended for vertical growth to become a Senior Product Analyst, and later a Product Manager assigned to a specific state.

 

  • Develops and maintains monthly and statistical reporting with recommendations to the Product Manager in identifying market trends, changes in mix of business, profitability, close ratio, and other various metrics.
  • Monitors and reports competitor rate and rule changes within the market to the Product Manager.
  • Develops and implements key business strategies in coordination with Quality Assurance, Underwriting, and Sales.
  • Responsible and accountable for testing the rate and rule accuracy of our programs on our system and third party platforms during revision rollouts.
  • Monitor regulatory filing requirements and prepare rate/rule/form filings with SERFF.
  • Prepares ad hoc data summaries to facilitate in cost reduction opportunities and decision making.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration specifically in Finance, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics or related degree or equivalent work experience in the property & casualty insurance industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and strong technical aptitude is required.
  • Needs to possess an appreciation of numbers and the ability to recognize patterns within data and have demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Quickly identifies possible cause and effect relationships.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work independently on projects with minimal supervision.
  • Must show ability to use judgment when data is incomplete or inconsistent.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Some experience with SQL Server Management Studio is a plus.
