    This entry-level policy services position serves as the primary contact with policy services customers. The Policy Services Representative communicates directly with agents and insureds by answering telephone inquiries, relying heavily on instructions and pre-established guidelines with limited reliance on experience and judgement to perform the functions of the position.  This person utilizes computerized system(s) for information gathering; creates reports as necessary.  Makes underwriting decisions and may answer questions from and gives direction to policyholders, claimants, agents and others. This person will assure delivery of “best in class” customer service and contribute to the quality of our policy services handling. It is also expected this person exhibit strong interpersonal skills with other team members, while providing strong contributions to overall company and policy services department success.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides first line customer service contact for policy services activity utilizing policy services call center Best Practices in all activities.
    • Creates reports and makes underwriting decisions by securing information from policyholders, claimants, agents, or other parties. Affects policy underwriting by analyzing and inputting data via computerized policy services systems.
    • Makes decisions for creating an opportunity to improve a customer’s experience by providing a new quote or policy when necessary.
    • Refers inquiries from policyholders, claimants, and others to the appropriate personnel.
    • Implements and upholds all policies of Traders along with the willingness to work hard in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
    • Ensures all operations are consistent with the stated mission and direction set forth by Traders.
    • Excellent people skills and positive working relationships with others, internally and externally.
    • An understanding, knowledge, and application of Word, Excel and other PC programs.
    • Must be able to demonstrate good organizational and time management skills.

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalent is required. Will consider new college graduates with a desire to work in the insurance policy services field.
    • Conversational Spanish
    • Some level of retail or customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain Agent license in required states.
    • Conversational Spanish is a plus but not required.

    • Prior experience in Personal Lines Insurance is a plus but not required.
