Traders is looking for an experienced and capable Claims Supervisor. Under guided supervision, this individual will be responsible for supervising and directing auto claims. In addition, you will be responsible for leading, managing, and developing others on your team. Protecting the company’s assets through sound supervisory level leadership, claims and business practices. This person will assure delivery of (1) “best in class” customer service (2) quality claims handling (3) loss adjustment expense control and (4) continuous improvement. Delivers on the development of employees at individual contributor level. Finally as a member of the claims leadership team, the supervisor will be expected to exhibit strong interpersonal skills with other departments and team members, while providing strong contributions to overall company and claims department success.

Responsibilities

  • Normally has 5 – 7 claims representatives as direct reports.
  • Provide guidance, oversight and direction to individual contributors through continuous coaching, feedback and development. This includes the completion of performance reviews.
  • Ability to drive superior results through the knowledge and application of supervisor level leadership skills and technical expertise.
  • Demonstrated ownership attitude with the ability to be analytical and make accurate decisions.
  • Excellent people skills and positive working relationships with other groups and vendors, internally and externally.
  • Personal computer literate with proficiency in the use of Word and Excel.
  • Ensures all operations are consistent with the stated mission and direction set forth by Traders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related work experience.
  • AIC or CPCU degree or equivalent insurance course preferred.
  • 3 – 5+ years related experience leading and/or directing claims handling arising from automobile accidents involving state minimum policy limits.
  • Ability to maintain adjuster license in required states.
